REP MEMBER DAVE BRAT TO ANNOUNCE LEGISLATION TO END CHAIN MIGRATION AND VISA LOTTERY

November 19, 2017

There is news that Republican member of the House is working on drafting a legislation that would bring an end to two immigration programs which include the visa lottery program and chain migration. It is also said that the legislation would make it mandatory for all the businesses to use E-Verify.

Mr. Brat is expected to release and present his legislation before the House and Senate members group who are also working on similar legislations.

According to reports, Mr. Brat’s legislation is also expected to reduce legal immigration by curtailing chain migration. The legislation is also expected to revise the diversity visa lottery program. Lastly, the legislation would make it mandatory for all the businesses to E-verify which would curb illegal immigration to a large extent.

Most importantly, the bill is expected to not cover any kind of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

It is true that the immigration system needs to be fixed. Many legislations are expected to bring required changes to the system. Emandi Law Firm is closely following on all the latest policies and regulations relating to immigration. We will update further as and when additional details are made available by the agency.
