INDIANA CONGRESSMAN TODD ROKITA INTRODUCES A BILL THAT COULD IMPRISON AND FINE PUBLIC OFFICIALS $1 MILLION IF THEY OBSTRUCT FEDERAL IMMIGRATION AUTHORITY EFFORTS.

December 29, 2017

News is that a bill is being introduced that would imprison and penalize public officials on failure to co-operate with federal immigration authorities.

The legislation aims to target sanctuary cities, which are said to shelter undocumented immigrants and who do not cooperate with the federal immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) officials.

Congressman Todd Rokita has introduced a new bill called as Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians (SLAP Act). According to the regulations of the proposed law, violators could face up to 5 years of jail term and a fine up to $1 Million for ignoring the federal government’s request for custody of undocumented immigrants.

According to Mr. Rokita American people are watching and infuriated when their own politicians put open borders ideology against the safety of the people they represent.

Sanctuary cities is included as one of President Trumps immigration reforms. President Trump and other republican members have pointed and raised the tragic incident of Kate Stienle who was killed by an undocumented immigrant who was deported several times.

The congressman stated that Americans are losing life because of politician’s open doors policy and the federal government must seriously take actions against such politicians who are responsible for breaking the laws.

Emandi Law Firm is closely following the updates on the SLAP Act and will update its viewers upon receipt of further details with regards to the same.
